Weekly exception brief
What a weekly market-exception brief should contain
A useful weekly brief does not reproduce every captured change. It gives a commercial owner a short queue of traceable exceptions, shows what remains unknown and names the next verification step.
Every company, model, source and observation below is fictional. The example demonstrates structure, not a client result.

Synthetic scope
Example EU market; residential split air conditioners; eight fictional models; four fictional public retail sources; once-daily observations on business days from 24 to 30 August 2026.
Illustrative synthetic data — not a client result
The executive decision queue
- Verify a repeated 8% conditional promotion on fictional Northstar Breeze NB-35; one seller requires a membership code.
- Confirm whether fictional Caldera Home CH-26 remains publicly orderable after two postcode contexts changed to temporarily unavailable.
- Resolve a suffix conflict where a low price for fictional Ardent Air AA-50E appears to describe AA-50 instead.
No automated price or channel action is recommended. Each item remains a verification task.
What every exception row carries
- Current and previous observation with exact source and time.
- Product-match class and materiality rationale.
- What is verified and what remains unknown.
- Proposed owner, next verification and deadline.
- A no-action reason when noise is excluded.
Example: availability changed, inventory unknown
The fictional Caldera listing remained present and searchable but changed from a three-to-five-day delivery statement to temporarily unavailable in two tested postcode contexts. That supports a public-state observation. It does not prove warehouse quantity, other-region status, sell-through or permanent discontinuation.
Example: low price blocked by a match conflict
The fictional Ardent title named AA-50E while the specification table and image showed AA-50. The €899 observation would be the lowest visible price if exact, but the conflict blocks it from the exact-match price ladder until the delivered variant is confirmed.
What stays out of the brief
- Public sources are timestamped observations, not inventory systems.
- Exact matching checks model, suffix, capacity, bundle, seller and commercial basis.
- Not observed, unavailable, page missing, access blocked and unknown remain separate.
- No revenue, margin, sales, market-share, customer-result or enforcement claim is made.
- A real Pulse pilot uses an agreed small model set, sources, cadence and decision question; it is not exhaustive, real-time or production SaaS.
